Learn More About Allergies
Allergies are defined as an altered immune state. It’s the body’s response in a very exaggerated way to something foreign that has entered the body.
Allergies can sometimes be genetic, or developed due to:
- Poor nutrition
- Leaky gut / dysbiosis
- Increased toxic load (exposure to toxins)
- Stress
- Chronic illness
Food sensitivities, if not genetic imply poor gut health and leaky gut. While not all allergies can be addressed, seasonal allergies, and some food sensitivity issues can be addressed with lifestyle changes and supplementation.
Some lifestyle recommendations include:
- Avoid foods you are sensitive to
- Support immunity (vitamins, A, C, E, S and Vitamin D)
- Eat a whole food diet, avoid refined, over-processed foods
- Increase fibre intake, fibre helps the body purge toxins
- Include a digestive enzyme daily to help reduce inflammation caused by undigested food
- Drink lots of water, stay hydrated
- Cleanse and support your gut
- Address Leaky Gut Syndrome
- Improve sleep hygiene
- Reduce stress
- Reduce your toxic load
- Cleanse and support the liver. When the liver isn’t able to keep up with our detox demands, we may experience fatigue, headaches, poor memory, acne, hormonal imbalances, nausea and/or abdominal pain caused by a build-up of toxins in the body
